Risk Management & Beta User Testing
For Week 5, we met up with one of our user personas and conducted a usability test with the XD prototype we completed last week. We also managed to come up with storybook words that are suitable for children within our age range. The vocabulary and content were checked by the user persona who is studying Early Childhood Development & Education in Ngee Ann Polytechnic. We also continued to work on our individual progress this week as well as capstone project's risk assessment and analysis where we identify possible risks and organise them. Since it is whitespace week, we only have the chance to meet online for our standup meetings.
Feedback received:
Where is my family instead of where’s my family
Instruction like buttons and voice over are clear
Use typography for beginner writing alphabets

Wonderscope was the app that inspired our project through it's fascinating AR features. We managed to conduct a competitive analysis with Wonderscope.
Wonderscope is an app that reads interactive AR kids books to children in the form of an animation. We have analysed it’s strengths and weaknesses by conducting our research. Strengths of wonderscope includes interactive AR experiences, it encourages children to read and move about which is a positive use of screen time and helps children to recognise words by highlighting the subtitles. However, it has music that is louder than the voiceovers and can be expensive due to the account limitations. Big spaces are also required to use their AR features.

Another selected app for competitive analysis is Dinosaur Adventure!
Dinosaur Adventure is a colouring set that brings your favourite dinosaurs to live in an AR app. It is able to provide children with a variety of dinosaur informations, allows both digital and hands-on learning and is a positive use of screen time as well. However, it’s weaknesses lies in the complexity of setting up the product, possibility of losing parts, lack of dinosaurs interactions and also requiring wide spaces.
